How do I play?
Tap letter tiles to fill the outlined word strip. Any real English word fits โ you choose what to spell. Every tile placed or taken back costs a move, so finish all the strips before your moves run out. A word you've already started can always be finished.
My word was rejected, but it's a real word
Wordweft checks words against a standard word-game dictionary. It contains most English words including plurals, but not proper nouns, abbreviations, or hyphenated words. If a common word is missing, email it to me and I'll look at adding it.
I'm stuck and can't make any word
Tap Hint to glow the tiles of a word that works, or Undo to take back your last move for free. If no word can be made at all, Wordweft tells you and offers a restart. Restarting is always free and gives you a fresh board.
What do the duels do?
You and your opponent play the very same board. Apprentice weaves slowly, Weaver keeps a real pace, and Master rarely wastes a move. Both progress bars fill as words get finished โ first to complete the board wins.
Where do the definitions come from?
They're built into the app and work offline. They come from WordNet, a lexical database of English produced by Princeton University. Wordweft is not affiliated with or endorsed by Princeton University. The full licence is shown on the About screen in the app.
Does my progress sync between devices?
Not currently. Your levels, score, and Word Journal are stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.
